I met D yesterday at a brew bar in Castle Rock. We chatted and worked on a new script.   F took me to dinner at the tiny and wonderful Z Creperie in Highlands. Fabulous food! And the cutest waiter, blond and skinny, in super tight hiphuggers – so retro! Then to Buntport to see „A Synopsis of Butchery.“ It’s an interesting play, but the actress kept the character at a bombastic level, when nuances would have made the character more interesinig.

Walking around the block before the play, we interacted with a chatty fellow who was sitting in his bright red F-550 pickup that had 2 red trailers connected behind it, the rig of a tree-trimming outfit. He was admiring the pit dug in the back lot of the Franciscan property on the corner. As F and I walked up, he said out of the cab: „Impressive, isn’t it?“ „Yeah,“ I said, „it’s a great red! Why, it’s a parade unto itself!“ „Not the truck; I meant the pit!“ „But it IS a great truck!“ „Don’t I know you?“ It turned out that he is tree trimmer Jon P., Connie N.’s ex. He looked great, vigorous and perky. „Boy, marriage is hard work!“ he exclaimed.
