The past few days have seen me quite involved with HOA stuff. The Board has dealt with the fact that items have been stolen from the storage rooms and that there is evidence of someone hanging out in the basement, smoking. The response to these disturbing events has involved lots of emails and an emergency board meeting Wednesday. Arranging the logistics to get back door locks changed and keys out to owners and residents has involved chunks of time. And then will come evaluating bids for a security system for the building.

Connie and I met with Gar today. He and Carola had fallen off the face of the email earth. It seems that he is experiencing server change problems. We talked about various Dreamways website issues, as well a designs for paper advertising. As I told Gar, it’s not about problems coming up that preclude his attending to us, it’s the not telling us what’s going on that is problematic.

It has been snowing this afternoon. This is a most welcome visitation by the goddess of precipitation.

I met with D yesterday. We talked and lunched (curly haired painter Jasper joined us for eats), and rehearsed today’s script. The drive to and from Perry Park was autumnally beautiful, with changing leaves providing moments of gorgeous color. Coming back it rained in varying intensities all the way to Sedalia, giving that gentle valley a certain peaceful ease.

Last night we met Connie at St. Mark’s basement space, The Ubisububi Room, to participate in the celebration to commemorate the one year anniversary of the launching of Gar’s Pond Patrol website. There was live music. First the 3-gal trio, Porlolo. An electric guitar, a violin and a gigantic bass fiddle that barely fit under the low ceiling. A Leonard Cohen type of bluesy sound. Then Josh Novak sang, accompanied by a drummer and Gar on electric bass. Openly gay Josh gangly cute, his nipples ever so perky under his pink T-shirt, as he sang his 60’s style rock and roll.

I spent several hours yesterday working on my Dreamways blog. I took fotos that I made into theme icons: Nils Holgerson to precede dreams; the Foster Grant duckie to precede movies and TV shows, the leaf to precede midnight musings. It was fun to take th photos and get them formatted for blog use.

This website is a crash course in familiarizing myself with various aspects of modern electronic technology. I’m surprised that, once I circumvent my resistance to change, that I enjoy these various logistical learnings.

Executive Board meeting las night. It took place in the basement bicycle storage room, a venue that was decided on last week while I was on email hiatus. It is a most peculiar, dreamlike space for such a gathering. This is the first board meeting that I didn’t spend at least several hours preparing for. I didn‘t read the previous minutes, I’d quickly reviewed financials. I made the decision yesterday that tending to the Dreamways website is my Job, and it takes precedence over HOA stuff. At the meeting I felt perfectly present, but rather distanced from the proceedings.

Last week, as well as the weeke prior when I was in San Fran, I took a hiatus from HOA worries. I was experimenting. It felt very clear to me that I have to practice taking my Passions seriously in the face of my Dragons. My deep pattern is to accord the Dragons first priority, catering to any and all of their scalding whims and demands, and only then tend to my Passions. The HOA stuff, what with Colton’s sudden departure, was feeling like viscous mud, making any movement forward impossible, no matter how much time, energy and worry I devoted to it.

Eldora. It’s a gorgeous, sunny Sunday morning. The valley is a canvas of color splatters. The aspen are gold, a final rush before collapsing into winter’s muted palette of silver, white and gray. White has already announced itself, with patches of its cold white scattered about the entire valley in the form of snow. Josh and Bill report that Friday night it snowed vigorously up here, with half a foot or so on the ground yesterday morning.

Inta flew to Columbus Saturday morning. The three of us returned to Denver from San Fran on Friday. This trip to the West Coast was wonderful for me. So rich it felt, to visit the City with both F and Inta. This jaunt was a gift from F to Inta. And much of it a gift to me, too.
